About Barb Garritson

Barb Garritson is a children’s book author born in Bozeman, Montana. After 30 years of teaching art and working in the library, she evolved to creating her own art. Painting and sewing have always been her favorite pastimes. Not one to think she’s too old to learn, she’s has added spinning, weaving and now writing to that list.

Her parents were both from Minnesota, but settled in Montana in 1946. Her pride and joy are her family which reflects in her writing. Her first book, “The Red Sweater” is a based on one of the true stories her mother would tell about life on the farm. Working with her illustrator, she keeps her process fun and silly.
